Hotel specialists are all-rounders who master the work in the different areas of an accommodation business. The core tasks are reservations and reception. Hofas are also thoroughly trained in food & beverage (service and kitchen), housekeeping (design and maintenance of rooms), merchandise management and marketing. In this way, they have an overview of the interfaces between the departments and ensure that the quality is right everywhere and that the wheels mesh smoothly. Professional communication with guests runs like a thread through all activities - in personal sales or advisory talks, at check-in as well as via digital channels. Hotel specialists are the soul, heart and brain of the hotel.

Specialist for gastronomy - focus on restaurant service
Catering specialists have mastered the basics of catering: they greet and advise guests, serve drinks and food and cash up. Specialists are the face and voice of their business to the guest. It is their job to create the guest experience, to be friendly and knowledgeable advisors, salespersons and caretakers. To this end, they also learn the basics about food and its use in gastronomy in the kitchen and everything important about the design and maintenance of guest rooms in the business service.
Trainees are trained in restaurants, cafés or inns, for example, but also in restaurant chains or in hotels offering gastronomic services. The trainee and the training company agree on either the focus on restaurant service or the focus on system gastronomy. Training as a catering specialist takes only two years. After successful completion, training companies and trainees can agree to continue the training. It is then possible to obtain a qualification as a specialist for restaurants and event catering.
