Franconian Switzerland Nature Park

One step behind the Schlosspark and you are in the Fränkische Schweiz Nature Park. The beautiful landscape with the picturesque rock formations offers hundreds of hiking routes or walks with a variety of places to stop.
By the way: The Brotzeit was invented here and in Bamberg Landkreis you go to a beer cellar and not inside!

Seehof Castle

Those who take the motorway in the direction of Scheßlitz will hardly miss this impressive building shortly before the gates of Bamberg. Once used as a prince-bishop's summer residence, it now houses a museum and the monument protection authority of Northern Bavaria.

Basilica Fourteen Saints

The baroque pilgrimage basilica Vierzehnheiligen was built by the famous architect Balthasar Neumann and was extensively renovated only a few years ago. Since the 15th century, Vierzehnheiligen has been the destination of many pilgrims and is thus one of the most famous places of pilgrimage to ask for the protection of the 14 emergency helpers.

Buildings of the Margravine Wilhelmine

The area between Bamberg and Bayreuth was strongly influenced by the margravine Wilhelmine. Numerous buildings, gardens and parks still bear witness to the creativity of Frederick the Great's favourite sister. http://www.bayreuth-wilhelmine.de/
